How many times and how many occasions do men need this invitation repeated to them? ARISE. You who are disappointed, ARISE…
Yesterday is gone; tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin to bring souls to the One who alone could save them—to bring them to JESUS. Fear not. God bless.
God takes every “yes” that any of his followers says and fills it with his own divine “YES”. It does take effort on our part, but that human effort is so small when compared to the divine strength that accompanies it. Just as Mary’s “yes” to the angel Gabriel set in motion the biggest change in human history, our “yes” to the Lord will cause a chain reaction far beyond our expectations.
None of of the apostles could have guessed how far their “yes” to Jesus would take them ——- or how much fruit they would bear for the kingdom. Yes, Jesus! Thank you for calling me into your service!” God bless.
Imagine the apostle’s reaction when Jesus called them: Really, Lord? We’re just fishermen. You can’t expect us to go out and save the whole human race! As the twelve became more open to the Spirit, grace would flow more powerfully. Jesus awaits for your “yes”. Be generous to Him as he is already very generous to you.
The words from Jesus in Revelation. They are Christian of good sense only: They keep their distance. Lukewarm Christians try to build a church that conforms to their own common sense and see too much risk in following Jesus. These people, perhaps, has a admiration for Jesus, but ……. from afar. They don’t want to go with Jesus on the path of Jesus. “May the Lord deliver us from the temptation of that ‘common sense’ and the temptation to whisper against Jesus.” Hot or cold Christian? Of course the Holy Spirit will help us to be “Hot Christian”, if we allow him to work to us, through us and in us for salvation of the world. Serving Bigger Things.
How is it possible for a consecrated person, fully taken up with apostolic activity, to grow in his inner life without equal periods of prayer and worship. SILENCE is vital space devoted to the Lord. To remain fervent and zealous in one’s ministry, one must be able to receive Divine inspiration from within. And that is possible only if one is capable of being with the Divine Teacher.
Jesus did not call the twelve only to “send them forth to preach and to have power to heal sickness and to cast out devils.” But, above all, so that “they should be with Him.” How awesome is that? We are not alone. May Jesus visit us with His glory.
Take for example the true story of King George III, the King of England in 1776 when America declared independence. King George III kept a diary. On July 4th 1776 he made an entry into that diary:
“Nothing important happened today”
The moral to this story is that events occur that can change our world in dramatic ways, and even a King can miss it if they are not paying attention.
So to you that now read this, to you that have answered the call and are at attention, I salute you for your response, enthusiasm, and willingness to see what others dismiss.
When other people maybe no longer long for God and you still long for Him, you’ll get the extra credit. Love you, my friends.
